Need a website but don’t know where to start? I’ll take the reins. I leverage my 15+ years as an expert UX designer to create your custom, high-converting Squarepace site. You provide the copy & photos, and I’ll work my magic to do the rest. I’m the person to hire when you’re not sure what you want, you just know that you need it to be good.

This offering includes a static site up to 7 pages. Once I have final approved copy & photos, my turnaround time is under 2 weeks assuming you respond to my questions/review requests within 24hrs.

My #1 priority is that you retain control of your website and feel equipped to make, at the bare minimum, small edits & changes afterwards… even if you can barely use a computer.

Stage 1: Onboarding

  • Kickoff call to define your goals and audience

  • Review of your brand direction, aesthetic preferences, and competitive landscape, and existing site (if applicable)

  • Guidance on exactly what type of copy you should write (and what I’ll edit)

  • Direction on required photos/videos, including what you already have vs what you need to shoot

  • Creation of a high-level sitemap outlining the recommended pages

  • Walkthrough of your current funnels (social > website > booking/sales) to ensure the new site supports them

  • Setup of a shared folder for assets (photos, copy, branding materials, etc.)

  • Contract & clear timeline outlining milestones, responsibilities, and expected turnaround times

Stage 2: Development

  • Build-out of your Squarespace site following UX best practices

  • Custom layout design for each page (desktop + mobile)

  • Visual branding applied across the site (colors, typography, image treatments)

  • Strategic information architecture implementation (navigation, page hierarchy)

  • Contact form design & development

  • Selection and editing of your photos; direction for reshoots if needed

  • Light copyediting of all provided text for clarity, cohesion, and conversion

  • SEO configuration for each page (titles, descriptions, alt text, URL structure)

  • Domain connection, DNS setup, and technical configuration for hosting

  • Integration of forms, links, social icons, and any required external tools

  • Ongoing check-ins to confirm alignment and incorporate your feedback

Stage 3: Testing

  • Full quality assurance testing across desktop, tablet, and mobile

  • Usability testing with 5-7 different people

  • Testing of navigation flow, link integrity, and form submissions

  • Speed performance testing with targeted improvements (faster sites rank better & convert better)

  • Accessibility review to ensure readability and usability

  • Cross-browser testing (Chrome, Safari, Firefox)

  • Review of SEO indexing readiness before launch

  • Final refinements to layout, animations, spacing, and visual polish

  • Review of mobile-specific optimizations (buttons, image crops, text hierarchy)

Stage 4: Handoff

  • 1-hour live walkthrough training you on how to update and maintain your site

  • Transfer of full admin ownership — you control your site, completely

  • Zip file with a reference backup of your site (screenshots + HTML copies of your pages)

  • Optional ongoing support available hourly if you want continuing assistance

Please note that the cost of Squarespace hosting is not included in my rates. Most of my clients only need the cheapest plan, and I can get you a 10% discount on hosting services.

Some FAQs

Why Squarespace? — I could write an essay on this, but the short version is “trust me, it’s the best choice for 90% of the people in this industry”. It’s rare that I see a use case that requires something more complicated than what a host like Squarepace is capable of. (Also… I just flat-out hate writing code!)

Will you make me a Wordpress site instead? — No, because this is a notoriously insecure platform that’s prone to being hacked by bots. It’s flaky, which means that required security updates will often irreparably break your site. Using a web host that both allows Wordpress and also has lax content restrictions is typically a recipe for disaster.

Will you fixed my hacked Wordpress site? — No, sorry :( In my experience this is often more trouble/more expensive than it’s worth!

Will my Squarespace site get deleted? — Based on current US legal protections for hosted sites, this is unlikely, but any site is subject to the terms & conditions of your host. These can rapidly shift, no matter how friendly your host seems or what country they’re based in. In case we do encounter a future where web hosts are pressured to censor content (especially content featuring queer/trans people), I’ll share my archived copy of your website and advise you on the safest way to restart.

Can you fix/update/edit my existing Squarespace site? — Most likely yes, as long as you have admin access to it! I offer maintenance for existing Squarespace sites at $100/hr and I’m willing to troubleshoot DNS configuration problems at $150/hr. If I think the project may take over 6 hours, I might advise you to just create a new site instead (newer versions of Squarespace are much better and their maintenance would be more-cost effective in the long run).
